Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Ahead to 2025

2024 was an unforgettable year, filled with incredible experiences and opportunities to explore new places and grow in my passions. I was fortunate to see a significant portion of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, as well as parts of Ohio and lower Michigan. From lighthouses to waterfalls, the natural beauty I encountered was breathtaking. The wildlife I captured—from coyotes and bears to elk and whitetail deer—added even more depth to my journey.

One of the highlights of 2024 was photographing Crisp Point Lighthouse at night and capturing the northern lights for the first time. It was a magical experience that reminded me of the power and beauty of nature. Another unforgettable moment was photographing an elk and catching a coyote mid-yawn—a rare and fleeting moment frozen in time. Exploring Michigan’s iconic locations, like Pictured Rocks, Whitefish Point, and countless other scenic spots, was a privilege. With my camera in hand, I felt connected to the world around me, appreciating every detail and capturing memories that will last a lifetime.

Beyond photography, I made significant progress in my academic journey, completing my freshman and sophomore years of college. Pursuing my dream of becoming a cinematographer has been both challenging and rewarding. This year, I dedicated time to honing my video and photography skills, learning new techniques with my GoPro, and embracing every opportunity to grow creatively. From rafting trips and scenic drives to trail riding and hiking adventures, each experience deepened my love for capturing the natural world.

As I look ahead to 2025, I’m excited to continue improving my craft. With graduation on the horizon, I’m focused on refining my cinematography and photography skills, capturing the moments that truly matter, and sharing the beauty of nature through my work. I can’t wait to see how much I grow in the coming year and what new adventures await.

Every image I captured in 2024 tells a story—a lighthouse standing tall under the stars, a wild animal in its element, or a serene landscape untouched by time. These moments inspire me to keep exploring, learning, and sharing the world as I see it. Here’s to the new year and all the possibilities it holds!
